Prairie Crane
Prairie Crane Inc. and the family members of Prairie Crane Inc. have been involved in the crane industry for several decades. With an initial goal to create a crane company that exceeds quality in all aspects of work, the business quickly grew into the most diverse crane fleet in Saskatchewan. Throughout this process, Prairie Crane has fulfilled countless jobs throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba efficiently; while maintaining a high standard of safety. Prairie Crane built and moved into a new 15,000 sq ft state of the art building in 2016, located on 6.5 acres in the Saskatoon BizHub. The new facility and yard provides adequate space for daily work routines as well as other opportunities such as storage and training. Local training facilities have utilized Prairie Crane’s yard, equipment, and expertise to train apprentices.
Prairie Crane also has a heavy duty division – NCCHD. NCCHD is a 24/7 shop specializing in crane and heavy duty repairs with four full time mechanics on staff. This ensures proper maintenance and quick service when it is required. NCCHD is also able to enter mine sites throughout the province and has an ‘A’ rating on ISNetworld.
Prairie Crane Inc. is qualified to enter all job sites, including mine sites throughout the province. The company has a full Health and Safety Program, is COR Certified, and fulfills all third-party requirements such as an ‘A’ rating on ISNetworld. Prairie Crane has several long-term employees and overall knowledgeable crane operators and riggers. Our equipment, rigging, and large yard contribute to Prairie Crane being able to take the time to train new apprentices or any employee that requires additional training – this includes evaluations and competency tests on each piece of equipment that an operator runs. Overall, daily safety steps are taken beyond that of the industry standard.
Prairie Crane has approximately a 20% Aboriginal and 50% female workforce; ensuring a wide range of diversity within the company. Prairie Crane is also joint ventured with a 100% Aboriginal owned company, Iron Buffalo. We also donate to charities within the province such as the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, the Saskatchewan Kinsmen Club, B’nai Brith Lodge 739, as well as supplying services to groups such as Habitat for Humanity.
